Supervision
I am a supervisor for both individuals and groups and have a Diploma in Advanced Reflexive Supervision with ICPPD(International College for Personal and Professional Development). This training enables me to facilitate learning environments across a wide range of professions.
Model and Way of Working
My model is integrative based on the‘Hawkins and Shohet’s ‘Seven eyed model’ with aspects of ‘Page and Wosket’ cyclical model.
My philosophy of supervision is one of ‘collegiality’ in which I see myself as a facilitator of learning. I can help to create an environment where a practitioner can explore their work in an atmosphere of respect, trust and safety. This can then allow for an openess for challenges and exploration of ethical dilemmas to further learning and develop their work.
Counselling work can be emotionally difficult for the practitioner it is important that they experience supervision as a place to allow expression of difficult material and emotions and that they can be supported and helped to understand, manage and contain these.
